Troop 128 Dominates 4MR District Projectoree
By A.K., BT128 Scout
Projectoree is a Scout-favorite event designed to promote leadership and teamwork among Scouts through a series of game events. Though the Troop was recently realigned with the Difficult Run District, our former district, Four-Mile Run, welcomed us to the competition, with Scouts coming together at Solomon's Island, MD, from May 2-4, 2025.
Twenty-one Scouts from Troop 128 were divided into patrols and competed in challenges focused on honing skills such as camping skills, first aid, knot tying, orienteering, and teamwork. These events not only tested our skills as Scouts, but taught us leadership and survival skills. The names of the games were Bad Plumbing, Nuclear Reactor, Patrol See-Saw , Pipeline, Radioactive Basketballs, Spider Web Escape, Synchronized Walk, and Walk the Plank. Fire-Building Race and Obstacle Course were longer games led by two troops. Troop 128 led the Spider Web Escape game. These last three games were held in the woods to the southeast of the Barn. All other games were played on the main field, from 9am to 2:30pm on Saturday. After the games were played, everyone came together in the main field for the last game of the day, the Scoutmaster Chariot Race.
Troop 128 placed first, second, and third — a clean sweep! Could it be because we are led by amazing scoutmasters? ASM Hobbs made his Projectoree debut and helped bring home 1st place in the Scoutmaster Chariot Race. Using knot tying skills to create a triangular frame with three wooden poles, six scouts flew across the finishing line carrying ASM Hobbs sitting atop the frame. They were cheered on by the rest of the Troop, chanting "Who are we? 128! What do we do? Dominate!"
New skills learned, new friends made -- a great time was had by all!
